Hey everyone! Today I’m here with a throwback review of 7655 Clone Troopers Battle Pack. This was one of the first LEGO Star Wars Battle Packs (it was released in 2007), and retailed for $9.99 USD and £8.99 in the UK (damn, LEGO sets were cheap back then). Let’s first take a look at the minifigures.
The set came with 2 Phase II Clone Troopers, 1 Phase II Shock Trooper, and 1 Phase II Star Corps Trooper. This is a very nice minifigure selection for 2007, and if LEGO made a modern version of these minifigures in a Battle Pack, I think that battle pack would be popular nowadays too. They all use the open helmets with the black heads underneath, but they were pretty modern for 2007 (since the design continued until 2010). 3 regular blasters and 1 blaster rifle were included to arm the clones.
There were also two builds included, a speeder bike and a turret (Sound familiar?) The main build was a BARC speeder which sat two clones back-to-back, whilst the cannon was a smaller, secondary build.
The BARC Speeder looked pretty decent for its time, and I like the fact that it can sit two minifigures.
The turret had space for only one figure, but looked pretty good. I like the use of the wheel arch piece, though perhaps the gap could’ve been covered up a bit better.
There isn’t any “play features” by today’s standards (e.g. stud shooters, flick-fire missiles) but when combined with the companion battle pack, I think play value would nonetheless be pretty high.
It has rather good value for $9.99 USD/£8.99, as, despite the fact that it only has 55 pieces, both models are decent sized and the set still comes with 4 minifigures. The Rebel Trooper Battle Pack has similar builds but costs $14.99 USD.
Current aftermarket prices are rather high but if you have a time machine which takes you back to 2007 I’d recommend it.
Personal Rating: 3.5/5
