Why 2017 is a GREAT year for LEGO Star Wars!

2017 is a great year for LEGO Star Wars?

Yep, you heard me. Why?

Well honestly, when the 2017 Star Wars sets were revealed, I was a little disappointed. Considering that it was the 40th Anniversary of A New Hope, I had hoped that there would be more sets based on Episode IV.

Then I realized that the 40th Anniversary of ANH would mean it was the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars!

And upon taking a closer look, I noticed LEGO may actually have subtly celebrated that… with at least one set from each movie!

Check it out:

EPISODE I (THE PHANTOM MENACE): 75169-1

And finally, with rumors of a UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) becoming stronger every day, that may be the great way to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars!what20a20piece20of20junkcapture.jpg

So what do you think of the 2017 LEGO Star Wars wave? Do you think that LEGO has commemorated the anniversary well? Let me know in a comment below! 🙂

  1. Now there is a UCS Millennium Falcon. And I’m thinking of getting it!

Also, I have at least one representative from almost all of these.

I have the May The 4th polybag (a friend gave it to me), the Arrowhead, the Resistance Bomber and Heavy Scout Walker and Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter (I want that leaked Snoke’s Throne Room set to come early), the First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack, the Desert Skiff (I’m planning on getting the A-Wing), Luke’s Landspedder, the Y-Wing and TIE Striker Microfighter and Rebel Troopers Battle Pack, the frickin’ awesome Darth Vader Tranformation, and Yoda’s Jedi Starfighter.

I’m not getting the Snowspeeder, it looks kinda meh for me, I’m deeply considering getting the Duel on Naboo set, and also…I NEED the Jedi Starfighter With Hyperdrive Booster Ring. Mostly because of the minifigs, especially Jango Fett, though the Jedi Starfighter and Hyperdrive Booster Ring themselves look nicely done.
