41608 Han Solo BrickHeadz Review!

Hey guys! Today I have a LEGO BrickHeadz set review for you all! This is set 41608 Han Solo, one of the two currently-released BrickHeadz sets for the Solo anthology movie. It retails for the standard BrickHeadz price of £9.99 (UK), $9.99 (U.S.), $15.99 (Aus), and $19.99 (NZ). So, Han Solo. Smuggler, pirate, scoundrel. Played by the awesome Harrison Ford in Episodes IV to VII, and by Alden Ehrenreich in the new Solo movie. Even though I think Ehrenreich looks nothing like Han, one thing that they do share is the hairstyle (since hair can be changed easily). The iconic center parting, messy scoundrel hair is here, and it looks pretty great in LEGO, using curved slopes to good effect. Now, I think Ehrenreich looks nothing like Ford and was not a suitable choice, but that doesn’t affect the BrickHeadz since they don’t capture facial features. Han has the standard printed BrickHeadz eyes which is appropriate.

His body has a medium nougat-colored jacket over a black undershirt – the jacket in the movie is regular brown but presumably LEGO didn’t want too much brown otherwise it’d clash with his hair, so I think it’s fine. There are a couple of printed pieces at the front, and Han has a brick-built blaster pistol (LEGO interestingly chose not to use the normal blaster pistol mold).

Han has a belt buckle represented by two 1×1 light grey tiles with rounded ends placed back-to-back, as well as a gun holster represented by a brown 1×2 tile attached to an angle SNOT bracket piece.

Han also has a base which is standard for all BrickHeadz. This is 6×6 in size and does not have any printed pieces. He is perfectly balanced (as all things should be) when placed on the base, and can make a nice decorative accessory. Here’s the LEGO Han Solo minifigure version for comparison. Apart from the jacket color you can see they are quite similar.

All in all, that is the Han Solo BrickHeadz LEGO set! On the whole I think it’s a good BrickHeadz set – not a standout but it doesn’t really do anything wrong. Nice impulse set overall, even though the BrickHeadz prices in general are a bit higher than I’d like.

  1. To me, Alden Ehrenreich doesn’t look like Han Solo. Well, he doesn’t like an ADULT Han Solo. Han Solo’s supposed to be in his early twenties during Solo, right? In A New Hope, I think he’s already thirty or something. Also, he mostly sounded and acted like Han Solo.
