70362 Battle Suit Clay Review!

Hi everyone! Today I have a LEGO Nexo Knights set review – 70362 Battle Suit Clay! Now it’s no secret I’m not a big fan of Nexo Knights – that said, I do like mechs and so am interested in this set. Let’s check it out! 🙂

This 79-piece set retails for £7.99 (UK), $9.99 (U.S.), $15.99 (Aus), and $19.99 (NZ). There’s only one minifigure included, but that is not unusual at this price point. As the set name suggests, this is Clay. He wears an exclusive blue outfit in this set which has his falcon crest on the torso and some techno-style printing on both his torso and legs. His head and helmet are both normal, and the silver visor can be hinged downThe build of the set is the eponymous Battle Suit. It’s basically a mini mech for Clay that’s built around a couple of new pieces. It has a blue and grey color scheme which matches Clay and has a bunch of ball joints so is pretty poseable.

The mech has two accessories – a brick-built translucent fluorescent orange sword and a Combo Nexo Power shield. The shield is a new piece (later used in sets like 75185 Tracker I) that allows you to put on up to three Nexo Power tiles. I’m not sure how well these work, though, as I don’t have the app. Five Nexo Power tiles are included in this set: Titanium Sword, Mechanical Griffin, Commanding Shout, Flame Wreck and Chicken Power. Here’s the back of the mech. You can see it’s a bit bare but I think it’s decent and reasonable given the price constraints. The only ugly parts to me are the back of the shoulders with the Technic pieces. There’s a click hinge piece at the back so you can attach this to 70351 Clay’s Falcon Fighter Blaster, though I don’t have that set so I haven’t tried it. The center part of the mech is made from two pieces which were new at the time. Clay can sit inside and he looks pretty good when the mech is closed up.

All in all, I think this set is not bad. The Battle Suit is not a bad-looking build and it is fun to play around with. The minifigure isn’t very interesting but I think that’s forgivable, and the price is fine.
