Hey everyone! Today I am beginning my review of the Series 18 Collectable Minifigures with the first minifigure in the lineup, 71021 Elephant Girl!
The Elephant Girl has arrived at the Costume Party theme of Series 18. She has a grey torso and leg piece with very minimal printing, though I suppose elephants in the real world don’t have too much ‘detail’ either. She wears a pink tutu, which I think is a slightly odd addition. She has a double-sided head piece with a slight smile on this side, and wears a new mold on her head for the elephant head.
Turning the minifigure around reveals that she has no back printing, which is a bit disappointing especially for a CMF. The other side of her head shows an open-mouthed expression, which could mean she is scared or that she is making the trumpeting noise of an elephant. In the context of this figure, however, it appears that she is scared.
What is the Elephant Girl scared of? Well, she’s scared of the little mouse included! This mouse is a new mold and can be attached to a studded base. I like the printed detail and the molded ears and tail, and I think the mouse is the highlight of the figure.
Overall, I think this figure is just okay. Her printing is relatively plain and thus looks rather boring on the whole. The mouse accessory is nice but other than that, there’s not a whole lot to recommend here.
