Hi everyone! Today I have another LEGO Series 18 Collectable Minifigure Review! This is the Birthday Cake Guy, who plays the role of the guy who jumps out of a birthday cake! (Presumably this birthday cake is for the Classic Police Officer). This was one of the standouts to me when the series was revealed and I believe it was one of the first ones to be leaked so let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint!
The Birthday Cake Guy has an extremely jovial expression printed on his face. His black hairpiece resembles the very iconic element introduced in 1979, but is actually a new mold as it has a small hole in the top for a golden party hat (which is new in this color), though you can put other pieces inside like a LEGO Infinity Stone. His shirt is light blue in color and has a printed suit and golden bowtie, along with some pink cake stains! His legs stand inside an element which represents the base of a huge birthday cake, with some nice printed details especially on the side, with ribbons and little printed minifig heads.
The back just has more of the cake printing on the cake itself and the minifigure’s torso.
I initially expected the cake piece to function like a dress piece and replace the legs, so was surprised when an extra set of legs was included! It is pink in color to match the cake, and has some blue splotches on it, completing the figure nicely.
All in all I am very pleased with this figure. I like the concept and the execution is perfectly fine as well. Good figure overall.
